Some 30 ERFF members, policy makers, business and consumer representatives discussed digitalization, consumer trust and protection, and cross-border portability of retail financial services at the ERFF roundtable on 22 June 2016. The event was hosted by MEP Sophie in’t Veld, NL, ALDE at the European Parliament.

Opening the event, MEP in’t VELD stated that Europe is at a significant moment in the development of a single market for retail financial services. She stressed that this is a huge opportunity, despite the hurdles that still exist. “We should push forward with great ambition; particularly in fin tech. Europe can and should lead the world. But we must act now or others will overtake us.”
